EXERCISE 10: TEXTURED DESIGN TO PRESENT A POWER OF PERSUASION AD
CONSOEUR BENEDICTE J. CABILES - BMMA 1ST YEAR 2ND SEMESTER
In this EXERCISE 10: TEXTURED DESIGN TO PRESENT A POWER OF PERSUASION AD, the task is to create this ad with textured elements and with the use of a persuasion technique to convey a message or agenda. I have chosen to have this as a poster type of design where the layout allows the viewers to access smaller details of the whole poster. The topic that I have chosen to shed light to was the current state of our planet. There is this responsibility that we have for our planet where unfortunately we are failing to maintain. We often do not care not unless we are heavily affected. It is an important advocay to create a planet that is sustainable for the future generations to come.
For the design of the poster, the layout is this dynamic and has this futuristic appeal to it. I actually planned to render a cloud text on blender that would have this puffy texture although it would seem that I encounter errors in the process hence why I decided to scrap the whole idea and start with a fresh one. I used images that I enhanced using Adobe Photoshop by adding a soft glow that would give off this smooth texture. There is also the involvement of a rough grunge texture that would countrast the smooth photos. I was very keen with the use of elements such as the shapes and this bee line art and have them placed in a way that they would serve a purpose for the whole poster design to look decent and not overly decorated.
The persuasive appeal that I have chosen was Pathos mosty on the phrases that I have included around the poster. The main slogan being "There is no: Planet B" as a way to show that we only have one planet and to think that there is another place to live adds up to us human beings giving up on making this world a healthy place to live. I have added a lyrics from a song by one of my admired artists titled: "Time is Up" by Poppy where she have used strong ideas that we are running out of time to save our planet and the right time to do it is now.
