EXERCISE 06: EVENT POSTER
EXERCISE 06: EVENT POSTER
CONSOEUR BENEDICTE J. CABILES - BMMA 1ST YEAR 2ND SEMESTER
Fashion has been one of the art forms that really brings excitement and joy to me. I have discovered Fashion Designers with such beautiful vision to the advancement of fashion to this day. Taking inspirations on extremely well formed patterns and structures of garments with such stricking colors. One of those designers was Iris Van Harpen, a dutch based fashion designer known for fusing technology with traditional haute couture craftsmanship.
For this EXERCISE 06: EVENT POSTER, I have decided to have a stong contrast that would highlight some garments that will be featured on the "FASHION RUNWAY". This are personally my favorite pieces from the actual collection in real life (The photos that I have used are from the main website of the fashion company www.irisvanherpen.com). When it comes to the fonts that I used, mostly are from the font family of TT Lakes Neue Condensed which has sharp edges but at the same tme has this futuritic and simple appeal to it. The colors of the words within the event poster are colored in line with the colors presented from the photos, and most of which are beige and dirty white which allows the whole poster to have layers and not just black and white. There would be times when there is a need for editing such at the photos that do not really have that solid background color hence why I used an air brush tool to smoothen out and distrubute the color. I also constructed a word logo for the "HAUTE COUTURE" which was a lot of fun as I play around with the font and resizing and moving various letters to make it more constructed and clean looking. I created 3 designs with all similar and same componets and are just changed on the composition and placements. I do feel like I was able to somehow step out of my comfort zone by just playing it too safe or being too extravagant that it lost its visual appeal.
